We launched past 100 Likes on our Facebook Page (and now up to nearly 300), Ryker turned 6 months old… and Monday was my birthday!
I might’ve just turned 29, but I love my birthday like any 9 year old. I guess I’m an attention hog, and Cameron says I’ve been totally annoying singing this birthday song that I made up. That doesn’t sound annoying, does it? 😉
Anyway, I know I’m a total real food blogging junkie when every present I get is either a camera accessory or something to help me eat healthy.
On the other hand, it’s also one of the few times that we completely and utterly indulge. We just say we’re embracing the “Stay Sane” part of our brand.
Part of that indulgence involves eating at a place so wonderful that the minute you sit down people hustle to your table with slabs of different kinds of meat. Also imagine it’s all completely delicious, and this place has the best dang salad bar evah.
And, they give you a buy-one-get-one-free for your birthday. Man, we definitely weren’t real food approved that meal! It’s a place called Tucanos that we hit up twice a year on our birthdays.
We followed that up by seeing Interstellar (spectacular) and getting ice cream at Cold Stone (also spectacular).
Follow that up with cake the next night with my parents (we did have spaghetti though for dinner), and a lunch trip to In-n-Out with my dad another day, and my diet was completely off the rails.
You know what that means?
Time to make something completely delicious that IS healthy for you!
Barbecue sauce is one of those deliciously fantastic things that can help you make meals in a jiffy (like dump a jar over a pork roast in the crock pot!) or can take a decent meal and make it absolutely delicious (like putting it on a chicken breast or a burger).
It’s also pretty easy to control the sweetness/spicy factor to get the right combo for your family.
We use ours at least twice a week, so we make a bunch at a time – at least a quart (if you’ve got a big family, that won’t last you very long).
Plus, it’s got all-natural and organic ingredients, and taste-wise, it’s my favorite barbecue sauce in the world.
Have I sold it enough? 🙂
Enjoy the recipe!
