For us, real food has redefined what “healthy” means. We eat full fat everything, raw milk, properly prepared grains, natural sugars, and pastured or grass-fed meat. Switching to real food and learning what our bodies really need has been very liberating!
You don’t have to give up all your favorite guilty pleasure foods! Cameron is a self-proclaimed food addict so he was very happy when he learned that little gem of awesomeness. All you have to do is figure out how to make it at home with real ingredients.
For the past several months, Cameron and I have been working long and hard on creating our Guilty Pleasure Recipes Without the Guilt for you! We took our favorite foods and made recipes all from scratch with all natural sweeteners, healthy fats, and properly prepared grains. If you’re a newbie and don’t know anything about that kind of stuff, don’t worry, we go over that too.
There’s a lot of work that went into making all these recipes, perfecting the recipes, taking pretty pictures of them all, and most importantly eating the creations!
Well most of the creations… we threw out a couple of them…
When it comes to brownies, there is no better dessert in the world, which is why I HAD to add them into our guilty pleasure list!
Except for maybe some premium Moose Tracks or homemade ice cream.
I would honestly eat an entire pan of brownies all by myself if I didn’t worry about feeling terrible about myself and gaining 20 pounds in a day.
Like most desserts, they usually don’t have the best of ingredients in them. That is when I decided to come up with a homemade, healthy brownie recipe!
You see, I’m a little bit of a brownie connoisseur.
Not all brownies are created the same. Some are really cakey, others are so fudgy that they’re pretty much a mound of chocolate mush on your plate. I don’t really like those boxed brownies you can get for 30 cents that taste completely fake. Then there are the brownies that try to combine every single dessert there is into one pan.
My absolute favorite brownie in the entire world is a fresh batch of gooey Ghirardelli brownies! It makes my mouth water just thinking about them. These brownies are the perfect classic brownies that are a combination of cakey and fudgy.
After many MANY trials I have come up with the perfect healthy brownie recipe that tastes just like the Ghirardelli brownies that I love!
