Well, I have salsas for different occasions too.
Sometimes we get comfy and throw together a little homemade Pico de Gallo, other times we’ll spend an hour putting together a shmancy mango lime salsa. For a Latin flair, I love red or green salsa slathered over some enchiladas or tacos.
But everyone, no matter how limited your salsa repertoire, needs a go-with-anything restaurant style salsa! This is seriously the Chilis of salsas – it’s not cheap like Del Taco or fancy like Ruth’s Chris, but just right for everyone.
We have jars of this stuff sitting around, always ready at a moment’s notice. It’s not too cilantro-y or too spicy. It’s not chunky, yet not crazy runny like some cheap Mexican places serve.
Some might find it weird to boil salsa, but it allows the flavors to explode!
It’s just a good ol’ fashion rich, delicious salsa that everyone can appreciate – and it goes with anything. It tastes fresher than store bought and you can ensure there aren’t funky ingredients like “natural flavors.”
Plus, it’s easy.
There’s no chopping (unless you don’t have a blender) and hardly any measuring.
You should probably stop reading this and just go make like a gallon of this stuff, whether it’s for a late-night Netflix binge or a highbrow dinner party.
But who are we kidding, of course it’s for a Netflix binge. We just finished watching Merlin and totally recommend it!
(btw no those are not healthy tortilla chips . . . we’re still working on “pretty” chips for the pictures!)
Thank you to Dr. Kyle Christensen for letting me share his amazing recipe!
