We have a new favorite meal and it’s taking over our lives.
It’s similar to how I sometimes call my brother and ask him “what’s your favorite song right now?”
It’s a different question than “what’s your favorite song ever” – that’s the one that’s always there. The one song that every time your iPod shuffles to it, you physically can’t skip past it. For the rest of time.
But your favorite song right now? Think about it – I bet you have one that’s different than your real favorite.
Currently, mine is Shut Up and Dance With Me.
But I’ll probably listen to it 27 times a day until I banish it from my playlist for a few months. My all-time favorite songs are China Grove (Doobie Brothers), Sweet Child of Mine (Guns N Roses), and Right Now (Van Halen). Those never get skipped.
See? There’s a difference.
My all-time favorite food is pizza, closely followed by roast with gravy and mashed ‘taters.
My favorite food right now is this chicken with its creamy mushroom sauce deliciousness. We’ve had it on our weekly menu for waaaay too long (but really, not too long yet) and I bring leftovers to work for 3 days after we make it.
And I still want more!
Its deep flavor comes from sautéing mushrooms (one of life’s greatest treats) and using your own home-made beef broth (much richer and more flavorful than store bought).
Toss in some butter at the end… yep, definitely my favorite meal right now. And it’s illegal to serve this meal without garlic mashed potatoes.
