Who can hate a holiday dedicated to showing your love to people you care about?! Plus, not gonna lie, I LOVE the chocolate aspect of it. I confess I am a total chocaholic and I’m “recovering”.
For the first time ever I actually don’t have anything big planned for Valentine’s Day … sorry Cameron! We’re just doing a fun little shopping spree to the outlets in nearby Park City.
Maybe it’s a good thing I don’t have anything planned this year because Cameron seems to find a way to ruin my Valentine’s Day surprise.
Last year, about a week before Valentine’s Day he begged me to let him get an iPhone. He started getting upset because I couldn’t come up with a good enough white lie to hold him off until I got him one. To keep our marriage together (not really) we bought one for him and I definitely let him know he ruined his Valentine’s Day surprise.
The year before that I was going to take him to the Ice Castles which are huge ice formations you get to walk through. I accidentally smashed our glass wedding cake topper earlier that year (that still makes me cry) and I was going to give him a replacement in some secluded part while we were walking through the Ice Castles.
Get it? Ice Castles and a glass Salt Lake City Temple that looks like an ice castle? It was going to be very romantic. Anyway, he hurt his back right before Valentine’s Day and couldn’t walk very well and the Ice Castles closed before we could go because it got too hot.
Yeah … good job Cameron on ruining Valentine’s Day for the past 2 years!! Kidding… sort of.
Enough about my Valentine’s Day failures, on to the recipes!
Thank you to all the real foodies out there for letting me share your recipes to make our Valentine’s Day healthier. Even though these don’t have any refined sugar in them, we still should eat sweets in moderation. Valentine’s day definitely qualifies as a day to indulge!
